Balloon Crew/ Observers
We want you………..to help with the balloons!!!!
Have you ever spotted a Hot Air Balloon in the sky and had the urge to
say “let’s go get in the car and see where it ends up!” Well here’s
your chance to get the whole “Chase” experience by volunteering to be
a part of a Balloon Team, by volunteering to be on a crew or be an
observer.
Being an observer/crew is a wonderful opportunity to meet great people
and be a part of a Team. As an observer or crew member you will be
there through it all (set-up, chase, landings, social events, balloon
glows and scoring…..yes the balloons compete for points). You will
know where your team is launching from and will know exactly where
they land, because you will be riding in the Chase Vehicle! You will
enjoy the majesty of ballooning first hand and make some new friends
in the process, what a bonus!!
So
you say “I have never done that before”. Not a problem. We will be
offering seven different training sessions in June and July, you only
have to attend one session that will take about an hour. This will
expose you to different Balloon systems , techniques, safety aspects
and how to score the balloons for the different events. Rest assured
all the pilots are used to having inexperienced crew they are all very
good at “On the Job Training”.
We ask a few
things from you:
1. Make a firm commitment as soon as
possible for at least 2 flights during the weekend.
2. Be
prepared to get involved. Meet new people and make new friends.
3. Get
up close with the balloons.
4. Be
safe and have a blast.
