A note about the weather:

Please understand that we are an outdoor event and that the schedule may need to change due to weather. All balloon launches are weather permitting and the times are subject to change based on the weather.

What to Expect:

Pilots will get a weather briefing before each flight. A flight decision will NOT be made until after that meeting.

HAJ Morning flights are usually what we call a “fly in” meaning balloons will find their own launch locations around the city based on wind directions and speeds and try to fly into Ella Sharp Park. The best place to see balloons in the morning is at the Park.

HAJ Evening flights are usually from Ella Sharp Park, meaning there will be a mass balloon launch from the park and balloons will land around town based on wind directions and speed. The best place to see balloons in the evenings is at the park.

USWNC target locations cannot be shared with the public due to potential spectator interference. Pilots will launch from around town all week. Should we be able to launch from Ella Sharp Park, we will share that information through our normal channels.
